Welcome to Mrs. Gadziala's web page! I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year. Below you will find information that pertains to our classroom, procedures, what we are learning, and resources to help support your child on their learning journey in 5th grade!
ELA/SSThis is our first ELA homework of the year. Students will be studying prefixes and completing vocabulary activities using these new words. Students are required to complete 3 activities off the vocabulary menu per week using their assigned vocabulary words. I will check homework notebooks every Friday!
Students must also read for 20 minutes a night. They may chose whatever text they would like to read!

MathIn math, students will have nightly homework. Homework does vary each night. Sometimes, students will be required to practice their math facts. At other times, students will be practicing what we learned in the classroom.
Students with a morning duty are also required to have their morning work completed at home. Students can access the problems through Google Classroom. |
ScienceEach student has a green Numble Jumble folder where we record new science vocabulary we are learning in class. Students also have a list of 108 Numble Jumble words that they must memorize by the end of the school year. Each Friday, we will have a random 10 word quiz (ungraded). We will use our results on these assessments to track personal growth and classroom growth. Please encourage your child to study these words each week. Don't try an conquer all 108 at one time! Instead, choose 10 new words to study each week and progress through the week slowly. It's a marathon, not a sprint!
